ハエマンツス・ダシフィルス
日本ではマユハケオモトが有名ですが、ハエマンツス・ダシフィルスはその仲間です。ハエマンツスは南アに２２種類分布しています。ダシフィルスはナマクアランドの標高９００m辺りに分布、年間降雨量は１００～２００mmしかありません。花はとても目立つ赤で、葉は乾期に落葉します。
本種は１９２６年にルドルフ・マルロスにより発見されましたが、ハエマンツス・プベスケンスに含まれました。１９８２年、M.B.ベイヤーが採集、新種と判明ダシフィルスになりました。
In genus Haemanthus there are some 22 known species, endemic to South Africa. H.dasyphyllus is native to Namaqualand in S.Africa. The localities are at an elevation of 900m with an annual rainfall of 100〜200mm. The flower head is bright red. It is one of the deciduous Haemanthus. First collections of the plants were by Rudolf Marloth in 1926 and were filed under H.pubescens. In 1982 M.B.Bayer collected this bulb and it soon became clear this bulbous plant was from a new species.
