リリウム・マクリニアエ, (英名 シロイリリー＝Siroi Lily）
リリウム・マクリニアエはインドのマニプールにあるシロイヒルに自生、標高１７３０〜２５９０mに見られます。有名なプラントハンターのキングドンワードは１９４６年にこのユリを見つけましたが、彼の奥さんマクリンの名を学名に採用しました。ダイアン ホワイトヘッドはややユリらしくない所から分類を近似の属のノモカリスとしましたが、今ではユリ属になっています。 このユリはマニプールの州花となっていますが、残念ながら絶滅危機のある種に上げられています。インドの手で保護が始まりました。
It is native to the Siroi Hill of Manipur in India at an elevation of 1730〜2590m. The famous plant hunter, Frank Kingdon-Ward made the exciting discovery of this lily in 1946 and named it after his wife Jean Macklin. So its Latin name is L.mackliniae. Once Diane Whitehead was thought it to belong Nomocharis which is relative to Lilium. It is the state flower of Manipur but unfortunately it has become an endangered species in India. In 2013 Department of Environment and Heritage of Goa started to protect this species.
