ミルメコフィラ・ブリシアナ
ベリーズ、グアテマラ、ホンジュラス、ニカラグア、コスタリカ、コロンボに分布するカトレアに近縁の着生ランで, 以前はショーンバーグキアという属に含まれていました。それにしても花茎は長く、普通の家で栽培すると花は隣の部屋で観賞することになりそうです。この仲間の偽球茎はアリが住み、その中に昆虫の死骸や植物の破片などを蓄えます。養分の少ない樹上でもこのランは養分として吸収していきます。
It is an ephiphytic orchid and native to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Colombia. Flower stem extend long. In the wild ants are living in the large pseudobulbs. And pack many of the pseudobulbs with debris that includes variety of dead insects, plant material. This orchid utilizes minerals of organic debris since the habitats have poor nutrient.
